I got it when I was 8 I think. My daughter uses it now. Only the bright colors remain – black and white had been the first to go.

As I drive around I notice the beauty of the ashen colors of nature against more ashen colors of the concrete jungle against the recovering ashen sky. All shades of gray but each day, splashed more and more with that bright-birth green and the landscape that results, so startling in its message of God’s power, is what I’ve been trying to record again and again with watercolors (not my favorite medium) but it ain’t working. So here’s just a sketch of the perturbed, weary look that is the result:
