I can totally relate. I HATED sciencein junior high, despised it. and if not for Mr. Knox, my grade 9 science teacher, I may have never taken another class after I was done the compulsories, and my education would have been very very different (hmmmm...one less arab, muslim engineer. maybe not such a bad thing?)

Asmaa, even though science is good, I'm glad we decided to explore the intriguing outer realms of the arts. (You don't have to memorize the Periodic Table of Elements [i remembered the title of that thing? i surprise myself everyday.] in order to make your mark!)
and thanks for your belief in my daughter...your sis is a great teacher to her! :)

Ahh good old science (from back in my high school days). Actually, I really liked biology, especially anything related to genetics. But I decided, much like the members of your family, to do something more "artsy" :) I never feel guilty about it though, because I figure there are enough people going into science and medicine, and I can make a difference in so many other ways.

But you know what? Your daughter could very well grow up to discover the cure for cancer! :D I believe in her.
