Salam Alaykum,

Sister i stumbled onto your blog by accident i was actually looking for someting else and insha'allah i will find that something else.

To start with i was thinking here we go again someone telling me to be brave and take my hijab off and it will be fantastic and liberating and i will be finally free and i almost stopped reading it thinkng heard it all before but i kept reading and Alhumduillah that i did, i thank you for telling and helping our muslim sisters with the beauty of their hijabs, i reverted to Islam about 7yrs ago and starting wearing Hijab about 6yrs ago and i love my hijab and what it represents,it tells the world i am muslim and i am proud to show the world, and my hijab makes me fantastic and liberated and free.

Girls dye their hair- i chose a different colour hijab
girls get a new hair do-i change hijab styles...

So sister may Allah bless you for your kind honest and beautiful heartfelt words insha'allah i hear more from you in the future...

Spring and pearlz, thank you for your honesty and bravery. What you were both doing in searching such a question is admirable. Seeking through questioning makes us stronger; it is a foundation of knowledge developed by Muslim scholars in our historical traditions...but somehow not so emphasized now. May Allah increase our understanding and our strength to stay true to Him.

mashallah sis,

After weeks of frustration and confusion about whether i should keep the hijab and intense google research tonite.. i finally typed in ''What will happen if I take off my hijab" subhan allah and the first response i got was your post! and if it like this post was custom made for me.
I'm 22yrs old and started wearing the hijab two years ago.. at first I loved everything about it because it brought me so much closer to allah and the deen. Then my relationship with the hijab turned into a love and hate one. days were I'd doubt it and feel ugly and have no hope ever finding a potential husband with it.
Growing up as a teen I was the only muslim in a private american school, in the midst of september 11 and the whole chaos of the war against terrorism i was concealing my identity. Alhamduillah allah showed me the way once I started university.. but the thought of reuniting with my old friends and facing them and seeing their reactions is always a great fear of mine.
I thank you and this most for bosting my confidence.. confidence is what i need when wearing my hijab... there was one part of your blog that really stuck to me and its the part where you said how not wearing the hijab makes you spectacular but if will eventually make u drown in ur own confidence and forget god. I cant thank you enough for this post!
